Hosting My Own Doubt
What launching Host at Home is teaching me about trusting my zone of genius
Coaches have been tremendous partners in helping me move through hurdles in both my personal and professional life.
Recently, a business coach helped me see something I had never considered:
I should offer host coaching.
Hosting is so firmly in my zone of genius that I did not recognize it as something other people might want to learn.
Because I would not pay someone to teach me how to host, I assumed no one would pay me to teach them.
I am excellent at jumping to conclusions.
Last year, when I surveyed close friends about my strengths, one word kept coming up: hosting.
I first applied that insight to my corporate work; which Iβm now calling Host at Work. Now I am realizing there is another opportunity: helping people build the confidence to host in their own homes.
That is why I am preparing to launch Host at Home, a one-on-one coaching experience for people who want to gather but feel intimidated by it.
There are plenty of books about entertaining, but most focus on cooking. I teach something different: The HOST Mindset and a practical process called The Well Hosted Journey.
Because hosting is not about becoming a perfect entertainer. It is about learning how to create the conditions for people to feel welcomed and connected.
I have been hosting too much doubt around this offer. It is time to channel my own confidence.
Making the world more Well Hosted is part of the legacy I want to create. When I help someone become a better host, their impact extends to every guest they welcome.
If you are curious about Host at Home, or know someone who wants to unlock their hosting confidence, please let me know.
The world will be better for it.
See you back here next Sunday.
With gratitude,
Liz

This is great insight and I agree fully! You should be coaching on this art. So valuable and hard to learn from a bookβ¦
Youβre a multi hyphenate now :)
